Why does Yahoo! Answers allow people with no medical training to dispense medical advice?

On several occasions, I have turned to the internet for medical and drug information and search engines have taken me to Yahoo! Answers pages. It absolutely amazes me that people who have no medical training or knowledge whatsoever give advice to their fellow answer seekers. There is so much inaccurate and potentially dangerous information floating around.

If you are interested in hearing other people's experiences with treatments and medications then this is probably a great forum for that. But PLEASE - if you are looking for FACTS or medical advice - go to a legitimate and trusted source, such as WebMD or your doctor! Don't take anything you read here as fact unless you can verify it elsewhere! Why does Yahoo! Answers allow people with no medical training to dispense medical advice?
Your comments on unreliable and junk answers are very similar to the comments made by Yahoo! in the Health Disclaimer that is part of the Full Disclaimer at the bottom of the page below all the flags.

If you click on the blue Full Disclaimer button you will find that Yahoo! actually advises people not to take too much notice of health advice and to regard it as information only that should never be regarded as a substitute for seeing a doctor.

Yahoo! does not evaluate or guarantee the accuracy of any Yahoo! Answers content. Why does Yahoo! Answers allow people with no medical training to dispense medical advice?
Read the disclaimers at the bottom of each page. Yahoo takes NO RESPONSIBILITY and you are on your own. That is why they allow practically everything and anything on this web site. You can't trust anyone on this site to give advice since you can't prove they are medical personnel.
I have medical training. I am a retired EMT.
I have medical training, I am a Nurse.
